There was drama on Tuesday as Nigerian activist and Sahara Reporters founder, Omoyele Sowore, was arrived in court in the company of a traditional priest, also known as a “native doctor”.

The human rights activist caused a stir online after he posted images of himself arriving the court premises with a native doctor.

He captioned the photos:

“The Gods Are Not To Blame” – Ola Rotimi #RevolutionNow #BuhariMustGo.”

One of the photos showed the native doctor quietly seated among the audience in court while Sowore’s trial proceeded.

Sowore was re-arrested on New Year’s Eve following a peaceful protest in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja.

Sowore and others are standing trial for criminal conspiracy and for allegedly inciting the public against the Federal Government in what is described as an unlawful assembly.
