Gunmen kidnap 70-year-old farmer in Ekiti

Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a 70 –year-old farmer, Mr Sunday Olorunshola Anifowose, on his way to farm in Irele Ekiti, Ikole local government Area of Ekiti State.

It was gathered that incident occurred on Saturday, May 8, around 6 am.

Source said the abductors have demanded N2 million ransoms to free the hostage.

A family source told Newsflash Nigeria on Thursday that the abductors contacted the family on Tuesday and demanded the ransom.

He said: “We have been contacted by those who took Mr Anifowowe. They called us around 7:03 p.m. on Tuesday and demanded that we pay N2 million for him to be released.

“We are really worried by this demand, but the family is not taking anything to chance. We are taking further steps to ensure that Anifowose is released alive as soon as possible.”
