You are liar – Gov Wike attacks Lai Mohammed’s security claim

Rivers State Governo, Nyesom Wike, has faulted the claims by the Minister of Information Lai Mohammed on the state of insecurity in the country.

Recall the Minister recently claimed that the security situation in the country is now better than what it’s in 2015.

He revealed that the current security situation in the country is far better than Goodluck Jonathan administration.

He said despite the security challenge in the country, the current situation is better than what the situation was in 2015.

The Minister disclosed this while answering questions at a press conference in Abuja.

He said, “I can say without hesitation that, though Nigeria is facing security challenges, the situation is far better than what we met in 2015.”

He explained how daily bombings by Boko Haram members were being witnessed in about 12 states, including Abuja before the inception of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

He also stated that the situation has changed for the better.

“There is no doubt that we are much better than how it was,” he added

However, reacting to Lai Mohammed’s comment on Channel TV Sunday, Governor Wike described the Minister as a liar who’s only good at concealing the truth he claimed the former is quite aware of.

He, therefore, urged the new Service Chiefs to be on top of their mandate, adding that “they should avoid politicing the security issue in the country as their predecessors did”.
