VIDEO: Magical votes counting at APC Ward Congress, jumps from 60 to 260

Nigerians have reacted on social media to the viral video on how the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted the ward congress two Saturdays ago across the country.

Newsflash Nigeria had earlier reported that the ruling APC conducted ward congresses across the country on Saturday, July 31, to choose party executives despite the warning by some party members.

Controversy still trails the ward congresses of the ruling APC across the states. While many states claimed it was free, fair and peaceful, others said participants and other stakeholders were shortchanged.

The congress did not hold in Anambra and Zamfara states due to the disagreement over the last governorship primary and leadership tussle.

But three days after the conduct of the ward congresses, there was a viral video that circulated on Social media showing the ways the party was counting their votes during the congress.

In the video, the APC member who was heard speaking in the Igbo language when counting their members who were on the queue miraculously and magically exaggerated the process.

In the video seen by Newsflash Nigeria, the man counting APC members on the queue without having any opponent, he counts the number starting from one when he reached 29, he jumped to 60 and from 204, jumped to 260.

Nigerians have reacted to this ugly event and said the viral video showed the reasons for APC’s rejection of the electronic transmission of election results.

Newsflash Nigeria had also reported that the APC lawmakers voted against electronic transmission of results in the Senate.

The outcome of the election in the Senate showed that 52 APC senators, including the chairman of the Senate INEC committee, Kabiru Gaya, voted against the panel’s report, which gives the electoral umpire the sole power to determine the practicability of electronic transmission of results.
