BREAKING: Helicopter Crashes in Lagos, No Casualties Reported

A helicopter has been involved in a crash-landing in the Oba Akran area of Ikeja, Lagos State, according to sources.

The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon and was confirmed by the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

The incident occurred opposite AP fuel station, close to a branch of the United Bank for Africa in the Oba Akran area of the state capital.

The NSIB Spokesman, Tunji Oketunbi, told Channels Television that the agency was aware of the situation and had deployed its team to the scene. He said that the NSIB would conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the crash and make its findings public.

LASEMA officials also arrived at the scene shortly after the crash and cordoned off the area to prevent any further damage or injury. They said that no lives were lost in the accident and that the pilot and passengers of the helicopter were rescued and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The helicopter, which belonged to a private company, was said to be on a routine flight when it developed a fault and crashed into a building. The impact of the crash caused a fire outbreak, which was quickly put out by the LASEMA fire service.

The Oba Akran area is a busy commercial hub in Lagos, with many businesses and factories located there. The crash caused panic and confusion among residents and workers, who ran for safety as they heard the loud noise and saw the smoke.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed his sympathy and solidarity with the victims of the crash and commended the LASEMA and NSIB for their swift response. He also urged Lagosians to remain calm and avoid spreading false information about the incident.
