SCIY mourns ex-governor Olumilua
The SCIY, Platform of all Ikere Youths both home and diaspora, said Baba Olumilua loved to play an open door policy and regarded all Ikere Youths as one big family during his lifetime.
The Supreme Council of Ikere Youths, SCIY, has mourned the death of former Governor of old Ondo State, Evangelist Bamidele Ishola Olumilua.
Olumilua who served as Governor in old Ondo State (now Ondo and Ekiti States) died in the early hours of Thursday, June 4 at the Afe Babalola teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti after a brief illness.
The SCIY described Olumilua’s death as a great loss to the Ikere Kingdom, Ekiti State, and entire Nation which the deceased served in different capacities till he breathed his last.
In a condolence message signed by the National President of the SCIY, Akin Afuye and the National Secretary, Hon Wale Afolabi on June 7, seen by Newsflash247, describing the demise of His Excellency, Bamidele Olumilua, as a man of the Nation and a man of faith and love of his word.

“We the Executive members of Supreme Council of Ikere youths today’s Sunday 7th June 2020 pay a condolence visit to the family of our late Hero, His Excellency, Evang. Bamidele Ishola Olumilua who passed on to glory on 4th June, 2020.
“Hon Wale Afolabi who spoke on behalf of the National President said that Baba was a man of the Nation and therefore Ikere kingdom was so blessed to have had a great man like him.
“He further attributed his significant roles in Ikere kingdom, Ekiti State and in the entire Nation. He prayed that God will console the family and the entire Ikere youths that Baba left behind in Jesus mighty name. Amen”.
Thereafter, Mr. Rufus Kolade Ariyo who led the delegation presented the letter of the condolence form the council to the family.
In response, the wives and entire family of Baba were so delighted for the disposition of the entire Ikere youth towards their family. They further advised the council to maintain its standards and live a fulfilling life.
