Oyo State: Ogbomoso Indigenes Protest Over Abandoned Federal Road

At early hours on Wednesday., August 1, the indigenes and inhabitants of the second largest city in Oyo State, Ogbomoso took to the street to express their grievances to the government on the abandoned section of the new express road between Ibadan and Ilorin.

The Oyo to Ogbomoso session of the road has been abandoned despite the fact that government vote so much money for this project…even the Sukkuk bond from the federal government.

The construction of the road was flagged off by Olusegun Obasanjo administration in 2001 and since then the Ibadan to Oyo and Ogbomoso to Ilorin section have been completed and left with only Oyo to Ogbomoso.

The current road being used…tagged Old road is nothing but a death trap to many travellers and the road has claimed several lives from all walks of life, and this has been on a daily basis.

The people of ogbomoso now called upon the federal government to do the needful.
