Olujimi to declare for Ekiti Guber race as Senator set mobilization committee

As the gubernatorial election of Ekiti State draws nearer, the senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, Biodun Olujimi, has set up the inaugural committee for the governorship race.

Olujimi, a former deputy governor of the state and other the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) met on Thursday, August 26 to start mobilization for the Senator governorship race.

Olujimi represented by her Personal Assistant, Fajana Ojo-Ade stated that Senator Biodun Olujimi is contesting the gubernatorial election and it’s the very glare that she has the potential needed to be governor.

“Let me tell you in a clear term, Sen. Biodun Olujimi is not in pact with anyone as it is been rumoured, how could the best be in pact with those coming behind her?

“We’re all aware of using her name to boost their aspiration, but she’s a leader of all and it’s a sign that she has goodwill and she’s acceptable.

“Her aspiration is not about joining the race with anyone but she’s readily prepared to get the ticket and to win the gubernatorial election come June 18th, 2022”.

Other PDP leaders who are majorly former political and party officers holders from the local government areas appreciate the readiness of Ekiti Diaspora to support the aspiration of an experienced, virtuous and intellectual politician of note, Sen. Biodun Olujimi to emerge as PDP Gubernatorial Candidate.

The gathering urges every PDP member to look inward, unite more and work for the success of the senator and PDP in the forthcoming Governorship election of Ekiti State.

It was agreed that the right time to start mobilizations is now, other aspirants are our friends and we should allow peace to reign among us as we’ll be pursuing our goals.

Meanwhile, Olujimi through phone conversation appreciated everyone in attendance, pray for the support of her ambition for Ekiti Governor 2022e and urge for the commitment of all as a victory for her as Ekiti Governor is a victory for Ekitikete and PDP.

Those attending the meeting include the former State Chairman of the party, Barrister Gboyega Oguntuase, the former State Secretary of the party, Pastor Adejorin Tope, the co-ordinator of the committer, Hon Bade Adara.

Others are former House of Representatives member, Hon. Mrs. Titi Akindahunsi, Pastor Tope Anjorin, Hon. Sanya Adesua, Hon. Chief Mrs. Titi Oguntuase, Hon.Femi Robinson (Elewo), Hon. J.A Ibidun, Adebiyi Oni, Hon. Akinola Sadola, Hon. Fajana Ojo-Ade et. al.

Newsflash Nigeria had earlier reported that the PDP had fixed January 28, 2022, for the conduct of the party primary in Ekiti.

According to the PDP timetable and schedule of activities for the party primary election, the Notice of Party Election/Congresses to the State chapter starts on September 1, 2021.

The date for the aspirants to obtain the nomination starting from September 13 to September 30, 2021.
