Gunmen abduct Bishop Oyedepo’s church members during service

At least three members of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, otherwise known as Winners’ chapel at Osara community, along with Lokoja-Okene road in Adavi Local Government Council of Kogi State have been abducted by gunmen suspected to be bandits.

It was gathered that the bandits invaded the church premises when some of its members were rehearsing during the weekend, abducted no less than three members.

The bandits were said to have stormed the area, shooting sporadically to scare away interveners before whisking the victims to an unknown destination.

The Chairman of Adavi Local Government Council, Joseph Omuya Salami, confirmed the development to newsmen on Monday evening through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Habeeb Jamiu.

According to him, the chairman had visited the scene in the company of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Osara Division since the incident occurred.

Habeeb Jamiu added that the council was working with security agents in the area to ensure that the victims are rescued unhurt.

The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Williams Ovye Aya, had not answered calls for comment as at press time.
