FCT Police Arraign 51 Persons for False Claims of Male Organ Disappearance

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command of the Nigeria Police Force has said that it has arraigned 51 persons in court for making false claims of male organ disappearance and causing public disturbance in the FCT.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, confirmed this on Friday while addressing newsmen at the command’s headquarters. He said that the command had recorded 62 cases of alleged disappearance of male private parts in the FCT since September 21, 2023.

He said that the 51 suspects were arrested and charged to court for spreading misinformation and inciting mob actions against innocent people whom they accused of causing their private parts to vanish.

He also said that the police had launched investigations into the cases and found out that they were all based on rumours and superstitions.

He said that the police had also intensified patrols and sensitisation campaigns to prevent further occurrences of such incidents.

He appealed to the residents of the FCT to always cooperate with the security operatives and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

He assured them that the police were committed to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in the FCT.

He stated, “The first case of male organ disappearance was first recorded in Gwagwalada on 21/09/2023. It has spread all over FCT whereby as of today we had a total of 62 cases reported.

“51 suspects were charged to court for giving false information and inciting public disturbance. To this end, I want to reiterate my commitment and willingness to always work with you to defeat crime in all its forms in the Federal Capital Territory.”
