Fayose reacts to the release of Ex-PDP spokesman, Olisa Metuh from Kuje prison

The Court of Appeal on Wednesday, December 16, nullified the jail sentence handed the former PDP spokesperson by Justice Okon Abang.

A former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has reacted to the release of the former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh.

Metuh was sentenced to seven years in jail by the Federal High Court in Abuja on February 25, 2020, after being found guilty on charges of money laundering.

However, the Court of Appeal on Wednesday, December 16, nullified the jail sentence handed the former PDP spokesperson by Justice Okon Abang.

The court ruled that Metuh’s convictions were tainted with bias and must not be allowed to stand.

Following the ruling, Metuh was released from Kuje Prison Friday evening.

But in his reaction to the incident, Fayose said, tough times don’t last.

In a tweet, the former governor wrote: “Welcome back home Olisa Metuh, tough time don’t last.

“And to Justice Okon Abang, you will one day reap the rewards of the hardship and suffering your miscarriage of justice has made many Nigerians to go through.”
