Fake Website Scamming Ogun Residents With Palliative Funds, Govt Cries Out

The Ogun State Government has alerted the public to a fraudulent website that is asking unsuspecting residents of the state to register their details in order to receive palliative funds from the federal government.

The website, which has the URL https://fg-5bns-naira-ogun-state.lin, is said to be a scam aimed at duping gullible and innocent people.

The Chief Economic Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun, Oladapo Okubadejo, issued a statement on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, disassociating the state government from the website.

He said that the website did not originate from the state government and that it had no connection with the distribution of palliatives in the state.

Okubadejo advised the public to avoid entering their personal details into the website, as they could be used by the criminals behind it for fraudulent transactions.

He said that the beneficiaries of the government’s palliatives in Ogun are not required to visit any websites.

He added that the site had been reported to the police and that the government would ensure that the perpetrators of the fraud are brought to justice.
