Ex-Gov Matawalle Gives Out N200 Million to Celebrate Eid-El-Kabir with Citizens

As Muslims prepare to celebrate the 2023 Eid-El-Kabir festival, a former governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, has shown his generosity by donating N200 million to some citizens of the state.

The donation was announced on Saturday in a statement by the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Zamfara State, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani.

Danfulani, who is also the chairman of the distribution committee, said that the beneficiaries of the donation included members and stakeholders of the APC, women and youth groups and associations, orphans and the less privileged, Islamic scholars, media practitioners and social media handlers, among others.

He said that the donation was aimed at assisting people to celebrate the upcoming festival with ease and happiness. He said that the committee had already started the distribution of the money to all the beneficiaries across the state.

He thanked Matawalle for the gesture, describing it as timely and generous. He said that it would cushion the economic hardship among the citizens in the state, especially at the grassroots level.

He assured that the committee would ensure that all the targeted beneficiaries receive the gesture before Wednesday.

Matawalle is a former governor of Zamfara State who served from 2019 to 2023. He was elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but later defected to the APC in 2021.

He is a politician and an academician who holds a degree from Thames Valley University, London.
