Ex-Ekiti State NURTW chairman escapes gunmen attack

The former Ekiti State chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Comrade Clement Adekola, has escaped death after gunmen attacked his vehicle.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Tuesday evening around 5:00 pm.

Adekola, an indigene of Ikere Ekiti narrowly escape kidnappers along Ikere – Igbara Odo road, in Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State when gunmen opened fire at his vehicle around 5.00 pm on Tuesday.

This incident occurred few hours after unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen shot and killed a man named Ademola Afolayan on a poultry farm in Ikere Ekiti.

According to the report gathered by Newsflash Nigeria, the incident occurred on Monday evening around 5:00 pm.

Sources said the gunmen, numbering about 5, invaded the poultry farm located at Eselemo Farm, Igbooka area via Akure road, shooting sporadically and in the process, killed Ademola Afolayan.

The two persons have narrowly escaped the incident.
