Ekiti Guber: APC Begins Governorship Campaign On Monday After Suspension

The governorship campaign tour of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State will commence on Monday, June 12 (today) in Ekiti East and Ikole local governments.

A week ago, the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti suspended its gubernatorial campaign earlier scheduled to take off on Monday, June 4.

The suspension came over a former APC governorship aspirant, Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele and five others that were hit by bullets fired by a trigger-happy policeman at the APC rally organised to welcome back to the state its flagbearer in the July 14 governorship election, Dr Kayode Fayemi.

According to the statement from the Chairman Media Committee for Dr. Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organization, Chief Taiwo Olatubosun said, the tour will take the APC governorship candidate and his entourage to all communities in Ekiti East (Isinbode, Obadore, Eda, Kota, Omuo, lkun Araromi, Ilasa) and the six communities in Ikole (Ayebode, Odo Ayedun, Esun/Oke Ayedun, lrele, Oke Ako, lpao).

The statement enjoined all the party leaders, supporters and loyalists of Dr. Kayode Fayemi to attend the rally scheduled to take off at 08:30 am.
