Thousands of Ikere youths (Son) trooped out on Monday, May 21 (today) to support his son, Professor Kolapo Olusola popularly known as Eleka for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
Eleka, a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ekiti State and hails from the town, the second largest city of the state.
The youths led by one of the Ekiti State House of Assembly members, Hon Wale Ayeni and later the PDP governorship candidate, Professor Kolapo Olusola and his deputy, Hon Deji Ogunsakin joined the rally.
The rally started at exactly 8:35am on Monday, May 21 at Gbemisola Area along Ado – Ikere road down to Odo-Oja roundabout where the PDP candidate, Professor Olusola addressed the crowds.
In his remarks, Hon Wale Ayeni said that Prof Kolapo election was Ikere-Ekiti project that every son and daughter of Ikere-Ekiti must key into to achieve the needed result.
Hon Wale Ayeni noted that Prof Kolapo Olusola is competent, loyal, reliable dependable and honest assuring that he would take Ekiti to the promise land if voted him as the next governor of the state.
Also in his remarks, Hon Gbenga Olaribiwa represents by Ikere Local Chairman, Hon Remi Ayeni described Prof Kolapo Olusola as one of the best God gifts to Ekiti state. He noted that Eleka has performed excellently well in the education sector where he has been supervising since the inception of Governor Fayose’s administration
“Prof Eleka is youthful, competent, highly educated, hardworking and committed to the development of Ikere-Ekiti and Ekiti state at large”, he enthused.
Responding, the deputy governor of the state and the PDP governorship candidate, Prof Kolapo Olusola congratulated the entire people of Ikere kingdom that our son was at the PDP’s governorship candidate in the state.
Olusola appealed to Ikere community and the entire people of Ekiti state to vote for him nothing that the continuity agenda of Fayose’s administration just like Lagos state should be embraced for enduring development in the state.
The PDP governorship candidate also expressed deep appreciation to Gov. Ayo Fayose for counting an indigene of Ikere
