DSS Grills Kogi APC Governorship Candidate, Ododo Over Petition

The Department of State Services (DSS) on Saturday grilled the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming governorship election in Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Ododo was invited to the DSS office for investigation over a petition against him reportedly by some members of the opposition party in the state.

The spokesperson to the Kogi State Government, Kingsley Fanwo, who accompanied Ododo to the DSS office, confirmed the event on his Facebook page.

Fanwo did not reveal the allegations in the petition, but described them as “frivolous and unfounded”. He said Ododo honoured the invitation by the DSS “to respect a constituted authority”.

Fanwo said Ododo was grilled by a team of operatives at the DSS for hours and he gave convincing explanations to the interrogators. He was later released by the DSS operatives.

Fanwo praised the professionalism of the DSS and pledged their cooperation to ensure a peaceful Kogi and a peaceful poll in November 2023. He also assured supporters of Ododo that he has since left the DSS office to continue his consultations with Kogites ahead of the governorship election.

He said their commitment to peace and tranquility is ironcast and urged every Kogite and every supporter of Ododo to be peaceful in all their activities towards the election.
