Chef Dammy Opens Up on Her Passion for Cooking After Guinness World Records’ Snub

Chef Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has opened up on her motivation for cooking for 120 hours non-stop in Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti state.

In an exclusive interview with BBC News Yoruba, the lady said she did not embark on the cookathon to break any Guinness World Record or to compete with Hilda Baci.

She said: “I just love cooking.”

The chef revealed that cooking for her people had always been her dream and that she enjoyed doing it. She also said that she had not received any car gifts or travel offers as some people speculated.

She said: “I have not gotten any car gifts. I have not gotten any offer to travel to America. If I get it, I will go.”

Recall that Guinness World Records had earlier told Legit.ng that it did not receive any application from Chef Dammy or the organisers of the cookathon regarding the record attempt.

The chef said that she was not bothered by the lack of recognition from the world body and that she was happy with what she achieved.

She said: “I am not sad. I am happy. I did what I wanted to do.”

Chef Dammy also advised young people to pursue their passion and not let anyone discourage them.

She said: “If any young person sees something they would like to do, they should go for it and not let people’s criticisms stop them. Is it not your passion? Just go for it.”

Chef Dammy, who is also a student, said that she would resume her studies after the cookathon and continue to cook whenever she had the opportunity.
