BREAKING: Two feared killed, palace, houses burnt as hoodlums attack Ondo community

Two feared killed and many properties destoyed as some suspected hoodlums allegedly attacked Isinigbo Community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State on Friday morning.

It was gathered that the attack was not unconnected with the communal crisis between the Isinigbo Community and a neighbouring community of Ode which had earlier been attacked also a few days ago.

A source said two unidentified persons were killed in the attack while many houses were burnt down, including the palace of the traditional ruler of the community by the suspected hoodlums.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the incident to newsmen.

Also, the traditional head of Ajagunode community  in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo, Oba Sunday Boboye was on Friday morning attacked by hoodlums in his palace.

The monarch said he scaled the fence of his palace with his two wives and other members of his family for them to escape when the hoodlums invaded his palace .

However, the hoodlums set the palace ablaze and destroyed many artifacts but no life was lost.

The hoodlums, it was gathered, stormed the palace in the mid night brandishing many dangerous weapons.

The monarch reportedly escaped with his wife, Olori Adebimpe and other family members by scaling the palace fence.

Narrating his ordeal, Oba Boboye said that he escaped death by the whiskers as the hoodlums were allegedly sent to terminate his life.

The monarch said “About 10 hoodlums invaded the palace at about with dangerous weapons asking for me. I had to scale the fence of the palace with my two wives and members of my family. I am left with the only cloth on me. They have burnt all my properties including my vehicles which was purchased three months ago.

“This is the fifth time I will be attacked since the land dispute started and the court judgement favoured me. I got the court judgement in 2017 and started its execution in 2019 and the people of Isinigbo have not appealed the judgement to date.

“I have petitioned the state government, the security agencies, yet these hoodlums keep attacking me in the palace. I want the government to save my life and that of my family members,” he said.
