BREAKING: Gunmen attack poultry farm in Ekiti, Kidnap one, others escape

Unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have abducted one person while two others narrowly escaped in a poultry farm in Ikere Ekiti, the headquarters of Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Monday evening around 5:00 pm.

According to the report gathered by Newsflash Nigeria, the gunmen invaded the poultry farm located at Eselemo Farm, Igbooka area via Akure road, shooting sporadically.

In the process, two men were initially kidnapped by gunmen but later drop the old man because he cannot walk faster.

One man identified as Demola Afolayan was taken away by gunmen.

Ekiti State Police Command Spokesman, Sunday Abutu, could not be reached to confirm this incident, his phone was switched off.

Three weeks ago, Newsflash Nigeria had reported that kidnappers had abducted some travellers in commercial buses along Akure/Ikere-Ado Ekiti road in Ekiti State.

It was gathered that the gunmen were reported to have swooped on the travellers’ vehicles while navigating through the bad portions of the road.

The source gathered that the passengers were in three vehicles and one of the drivers were narrowly escaped the incident.

The incident occurred in between the boundary of Iju in Ondo State and Ikere Ekiti in Ekiti State.

An eyewitness said that the vehicles were left open in the middle of the road, which attracted members of the public to the abandoned vehicle and raised the alarm.
