BREAKING: 27 Students of College of Forestry Kaduna regain freedom

The 27 students abducted by bandits from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State have regained freedom.

Newsflash Nigeria had reported on March 11, that no fewer than 39 students of College of Forestry Mechanization, Afaka, Kaduna were kidnapped.

The parents and students of the institution had on Tuesday sought the intervention of the National Assembly over the development.

One of the affected parents confirmed to newsmen that they were released at a village in Giwa local government area of Kaduna State an hour ago and they are now on their way to Kaduna.

The Chairman of the forum of the abducted parents, Malam Abdullahi Usman, confirmed their release to newsmen on Wednesday.

He said, “Yes, they have been released. They are on their way from the forest where they have been kept for the past (over) 50 days.”

The bandits demanded N500 million as ransom for their release.

However, ten of the 39 abducted students were earlier released by their abductors in two batches of five each.
