2019: Amosun To Dump APC As His Wikipedia Profile Change

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun may Decamps from the All Progressive Congress, APC To Accord Party on Saturday.

The Governor has protested against the high handedness of the APC in the appointment of Party Candidates during the primaries.

The source gathered that all State Executive Council members and Deputy Governor will dumps the APC on Saturday.

Amosun met with some party leaders and his loyalists across the 20 local government areas of the state held at his private residence located inside Ibara GRA, Abeokuta.

The source added that the governor berated those he termed “Abuja connection APC” for standing rules of the primary election on its head and produced Abiodun as the party’s candidate instead of Akinlade, who emerged through a direct primary.

The Ogun governor, the source stated, made it clear that he could not work with Abiodun, who he said lacked the wherewithal to win a senatorial district, let alone the whole of Ogun State, insisting he would rather bid APC goodbye rather than accept his candidacy.

President Muhammadu Buhari met governor Amosun and other two APC state governors on Friday over the issue of party primaries.

The President’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, disclosed this on his Twitter handle, @BashirAhmaad.

Ahmad listed the governors who met with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja to include Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun) and Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara).

“President Muhammadu Buhari this afternoon met with Governors of Kano, Ogun and Zamfara States at the Presidential Villa, Abuja,” he wrote.

Although the president’s aide did not disclose the purpose of the meeting, it is believed to be part of ongoing efforts to resolve the post-primaries crises that erupted in the ruling party in some states.
