Woman Finds Human Part in Food Bought at Alaba Market

A woman who bought food from a vendor at Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos, on Friday, was shocked to discover a human private part in her plate of soup. The woman, identified as Ebere, sells household items opposite GBO Plaza, in the market, where she bought the food.

The incident caused commotion in the market, as curious traders and customers gathered around the plaza to see the bizarre dish of soup with a human part sticking out of it.

Ebere said she noticed that the meat in her plate looked like a male child’s private part and raised alarm.

An eye witness told Vanguard Metro that; “I was here when Ebere was eating, yesterday, and found the meat that looks like a little child’s private part. We all took turns to examine it. It didn’t look like that of goat or a dog.

“It was when she raised alarm that other traders came closer and on proper scrutiny, it was concluded that the seemingly turgid but, small human flesh must be that of a child.”

The food vendor, who does not have a restaurant but sells food locally, denied any wrongdoing and claimed she bought the meat from her regular supplier in the market.

Some of her customers, who were disgusted by the discovery, started vomiting and lamenting that they have been eating human flesh for long thinking that it was delicious meat.

The situation almost turned violent as some traders wanted to lynch the food vendor and the meat seller, but they were restrained by the leaders of the market who called for calm and promised to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

The Public Relations Officer of Alaba International Market, Ezeani Theophilus confirmed the incident to Vanguard Metro and said that the investigation was still ongoing.

He said;

“The food vendor claimed she bought the meat from a meat seller who hawks around the market. We don’t want to escalate the issue so that the meat seller won’t find out and flee from the market.”

However, as at press time, nothing has been heard about the outcome of their investigation but it was reliably learned that the food vendor had disappeared from the market and nobody could say whether she was invited by the police or not.

The police said they have not received any report of such incident and assured that once they get it, they will investigate the case thoroughly.
