WhatsApp to Introduce Meta Verified Badge and Flows for Businesses

WhatsApp, a popular messaging app owned by Meta, a global tech firm, has announced some new features for businesses that use its platform to communicate with customers.

One of the features is the Meta Verified badge, which will allow businesses to prove their authenticity to WhatsApp users and receive a verified badge, enhanced account support, and impersonation protection.

Meta’s VP of business messaging, Nikila Srinivasan, confirmed the development on Wednesday and said that the verification process will be available soon for small businesses using the WhatsApp Business app, before expanding to businesses on the WhatsApp Business Platform in the future.

She said: “For businesses interested in signing up, Meta Verified will come with additional premium features including the ability to create a custom WhatsApp page that is easily discoverable via a web search, and multi-device support so multiple employees can respond to customers.”

Another feature that WhatsApp is launching for businesses is Flows, which will enable businesses to offer the full range of their services without the user leaving the chat.

Srinivasan explained: “With Flows, businesses can provide rich menus and customizable forms that support different needs. We’ll make Flows available to businesses worldwide using the WhatsApp Business Platform in the coming weeks.”

These features are part of Meta’s vision to make WhatsApp a more convenient and effective tool for businesses to connect with their customers and provide them with better experiences.
