US RCCG Pastor, Prince Afolabi Olaoye, Appointed New Soun of Ogbomoso

The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has appointed Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye as the new Soun of Ogbomosoland. Prince Afolabi is not only a royal prince but also a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in the United States of America.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, said in a statement on Saturday that the appointment followed the long-drawn processes specified under the law.

He said that the Governor congratulated the new Soun-elect on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers.

He also said that the exalted position has placed the monarch-elect in the position to facilitate harmony, understanding and tolerance amongst his people. He urged all sons and daughters of Ogbomoso to work with the monarch to consolidate the successes of his forefathers.

The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, signed the statement on behalf of the Governor.

Ogbomoso is one of the oldest and largest cities in Oyo State. It is known for its rich history and culture. The Soun is the head of the Gbagun ruling house, one of the five ruling houses in Ogbomoso.

Prince Afolabi Olaoye is expected to bring his leadership skills and spiritual values to his new role as the Soun of Ogbomosoland. He is also expected to facilitate harmony, understanding and tolerance among his people.
