Tinubu and Shettima Arrive at Eagle Square for Inauguration as Nigeria’s New Leaders

The President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima have arrived at Eagle Square in Abuja for their inauguration ceremony.

Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos State, was greeted with cheers and applause as he arrived with his wife, Oluremi Tinubu around 9:47 am.

Tinubu’s inauguration as the 16th President of Nigeria is a historic moment for the country’s democracy, as it marks the 7th consecutive peaceful transfer of power since 1999.

The event is being attended by over 20 heads of state and government from across the world, especially Africa, who have come to witness Tinubu’s swearing-in as Nigeria’s new leader.

The inauguration will be followed by a speech by Tinubu, outlining his vision and agenda for the next four years.
