Security operatives shot student dead as college protest tuition hike In Kaduna

A student of the Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was shot dead during a protest on Monday.

It was gathered that the deceased had joined his colleagues, who were protesting a hike in school fees when security operatives attempted to disperse them forcefully.

one of the protesters, who preferred anonymity,  said they came out to protest over the increase of school fees in the state-owned institution when they met security operatives outside the college.

When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalike, told our reporter that he will find out and revert.
