Russian Mercenary Leader Prigozhin Denies His Death in Mysterious Video

A new video has emerged showing Yevgeny Prigozhin, the notorious leader of the Russian Wagner mercenary group, alive and well, despite reports of his death in a plane crash last week.

In the video, which was posted on Wagner’s Grey Zone Telegram channel, Prigozhin said that he was in Africa and that everything was fine. He also mocked those who were speculating about his demise or his personal affairs.

The video is believed to have been filmed in the second half of August, according to Sky News.

However, Prigozhin’s camouflage clothing and hat, as well as the watch on his right hand, matched his appearance in another video that was released earlier this month.

Prigozhin was confirmed to have died in a plane crash north of Moscow on August 23, along with other top Wagner figures and bodyguards.

DNA tests of the bodies found in the wreckage confirmed his identity.

He was buried in Porokhovskoye Kladbishche, St Petersburg, Russia, on Tuesday, days after President Vladimir Putin said Prigozhin “made serious mistakes” while offering condolences.

Prigozhin’s video raises questions about the authenticity of his death and the motives behind it.

Prigozhin was known as Putin’s “chef” and a close associate of the Kremlin. He was also accused of being behind various covert operations and conflicts in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. He faced sanctions and criminal charges from several countries, including the United States.

His comments in the video reflected Prigozhin’s awareness of risks to his life. He said, “For people who like to discuss wiping me out, or my private life, how much I earn or whatever else – everything’s ok.”
