Oyedepo Boasts of Changing Planes Like Bicycles, Says God’s Blessings Make Him Rich

Bishop David Oyedepo, the presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has bragged about how his church is changing planes like bicycles because of God’s blessings.

Oyedepo, who is reputed to be the richest pastor in Nigeria, with a net worth of over $150 million, said that God told him that he was going to fly, but he did not pursue it with human effort.

“God told us we are going to fly, if He left us to plan to fly, it won’t enter our budget in the next 10 years.

“We are just changing planes like we change bicycles because His blessings make us rich and add no sorrow. We didn’t confess, we didn’t pray, pray for plane to do what? They asked me, which kind of plane and I said any kind. I don’t know the name of any because I wasn’t shopping for it,” he said in one of his sermons.

Oyedepo said some people are praying very hard for plane, but advised them to sell it quickly if they acquired it, because “by the time they bring the bill for you in a month, you will say, Oh God, what is this? But when it is your turn, it is your turn.”

Oyedepo also spoke about the Ark Project, a massive auditorium being built by his church in Canaanland, Ota. He said the church had not announced any offering for the project, which is estimated to cost over N160 billion. He said the project was being funded by the blessings of God, despite the economic challenges in the country.

“The dollar-to-naira rate has tumbled and tumbled, but the blessings have tumbled too. There is no forex input from outside Nigeria on the Ark Project, yet there is no pressure on anybody,” he said.

Oyedepo also attributed his wealth to his faithfulness in paying tithes. He cited the example of John D. Rockefeller, who was a tither and became the first American billionaire in history. “People don’t lack what they give, they only lack what they keep. He was tithe raised, tithe groomed and tithe sustained,” he said.

Oyedepo has a fleet of four jets, which includes a Gulfstream V, costing $30 million.
