OPM Pastor Speaks On Evicting Late Deborah Samuel’s Family from Gifted Estate
The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, has refuted the report that he ordered the family of late Deborah Samuel out of the estate he gifted them.
Deborah Samuel was a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto State who was killed by a mob of Muslim students in 2022 for allegedly blaspheming Prophet Muhammad.
Apostle Chibuzor had offered to relocate the family to Port Harcourt and provide them with free housing, job, business and scholarship for their children.
However, a recent report by Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) claimed that the family was asked to pay rent or vacate the house.
The report also alleged that the pastor gave them a faulty car and a shop with expired goods.
But in a press conference on Monday, June 26, 2023, Apostle Chibuzor dismissed the report as false and malicious.
He said he did not evict the family from the estate but rather provided them with a 14-flat mini-estate where they are the landlords and collect rent from tenants.
He also said he opened a shop with goods worth N1.5 million for them to start a business and gave them a car in good condition.
He said he had no contact with them concerning rent since he settled them with the mini-estate.
He said he also offered Deborah’s immediate younger brother a scholarship to study abroad and sponsored the rest of her siblings in school up to university level.
He said he was surprised by the report and wondered why the family would lie against him.
He said he had evidence of all his transactions with the family and challenged anyone to verify his claims.
He said he did not abandon the family but rather empowered them to live a better life.
