NOUN Student Found Dead in Abuja Forest After Missing for Three Days

The body of a 26-year-old female student of the National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, Blessing Karami, who went missing on September 11, 2023, has been found in a forest in Karimo, Abuja.

The FCT Police confirmed the sad news to Newsflash Nigeria on Thursday.

The police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said that the deceased was reported missing by her family on September 14, 2023, three days after she was last seen. She said that the police launched a search operation and discovered her remains in a wooded area in Karimo.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna G. Garba, has ordered a full-scale investigation into the cause and manner of Blessing Karami’s death. He vowed to unravel the mystery behind the tragic incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.

SP Adeh said that the police are collaborating with the Abuja Environmental Protection Board, AEPB to evacuate the decomposing body from the forest. She said that the police will update the public on the progress of the investigation.

She also expressed the sympathy of the police to the family and friends of Blessing Karami and assured them of the police’s commitment to finding closure for them.
