Nigerians react to Tinubu landed in the Presidential Wing at Lagos Airport

Nigerians have reacted to the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, for landing in the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja in Lagos State.

Newsflash Nigeria had reported that Tinubu landed in the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos State on Sunday, 12 days after he won the APC presidential ticket.

The former Lagos governor was welcomed by an excited crowd from the airport and he was seen waving at ecstatic supporters who hailed him.

Tinubu is the presidential candidate of the APC and does not fall into the category to land in the Presidential Wing.

Nigerians’ reactions on social media condemned the Nigerian Airforce to allow APC presidential candidate landed in the presidential Wing.

Reno Omokri, a Nigerian politician and socio-political commentator, has slammed the Nigerian Airforce for allowing Bola Tinubu to land in the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Sunday.

Reno alleged that such a gesture proves that President Muhammadu Buhari-led’s federal government is prepared to use its federal might to rig the forthcoming presidential elections in Tinubu’s favour.

He noted that it was unethical for the Nigerian Air Force to allow Tinubu’s jet to use the presidential wing of the airport.

In a series of tweets, Omokri explained that Tinubu is not Nigeria’s president nor does he represents the Federal Government and as such had no right to use the presidential wing.

“Tinubu is a citizen like any other. The Presidential wings of Nigeria’s airports are for the use of the President, and those representing the FG. Tinubu does not fall into that category. The Nigerian Airforce must not allow itself to become Tinubu and APC’s poodle!” Reno Omokri fumed.

On Twitter, he added: “Why would the Nigerian Airforce allow Bola Tinubu to land in the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport? That is wrong, almost to the point of treason! It proves that the Buhari government is prepared to use federal might to rig him into power!

“Allowing Tinubu land in the Presidential wing is unethical. The man is not the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed forces. Presidents Obasanjo, Yar’adua and Jonathan never did that. This reduces our airforce in the estimation of right-thinking members of the public!

“In South Africa, heads rolled when the Gupta family landed in the Presidential Wing of the Waterkloof airport. It almost brought down Zuma’s government. Is Nigeria the Banana Republic that Tinubu will just land in our Presidential wing and the airforce allows it?”
