Kogi, Ogun, Other Five States Miss Out On Fed Govt’s N45bn COVID-19 Reimbursement

Seven States did not benefit from the Federal Government’s N45.3 billion Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Programme (NG-Cares).

The N45.3 billion COVID-19 Stimulus package was released to State Governments to mitigate their expenses at the height of the pandemic.

However, Benue, Ebonyi, Kogi, Taraba, Enugu, Ogun and Imo States did not get reimbursement from the Federal Government because they could not repay the advance.

Imo State did not earn any results in the first round so did not qualify for any reimbursement.

Minister of State for Budget and National Planning and the Chairman of the Federal Cares Steering Committee, Clem Agba, who announced in Abuja said only 29 States and the Federal Capital Territory, were able to meet the conditions for getting the reimbursement.
