Flood Sweeps Away Secondary School Student In Ondo

A Junior Secondary School student of Mount Carmel Girls School, Ikare Akoko, in Ondo State, Motunrayo John, has reportedly been swept away by a flood.

The flood was said to have been caused by a heavy downpour in the community.

According to the report by the Punch, gathered that the incident happened on Tuesday in the Semusemu area of the town.

A source in the community stated that the girl was playing with erosion and she put her legs inside the water when she mistakenly slipped into the water and was carried away.

The mathematical set of the girl was recovered while searching for her after the rain.

Confirming the incident, the Divisional Police Officer in Ikare Akoko, Olatujoye Akinwande, said the school principal, Ajoke Asiwaju, has reported the matter at the police station.

Olatujoye Akinwande added that the search and rescue operation had commenced.
