Ekweremadu’s Son, Lloyd Marries Tiffany in Abuja, PDP Bigwigs Stand in for Parents Jailed for Organ Trafficking

Lloyd, the son of former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, tied the knot with his sweetheart, Tiffany, in a colourful ceremony in Abuja on Saturday.

The wedding was attended by top chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who stood in for Lloyd’s parents, Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice, who are currently serving prison terms in the UK for organ trafficking.

Newsflash Nigeria gathered that three former Senate Presidents – Anyim Pius Anyim, David Mark and Bukola Saraki – and PDP governorship candidate in Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye, among others, played the roles of father and mother of the groom at the wedding. They also gave their blessings and advice to the newlyweds.

The wedding took place at Basilica of Grace Anglican Church, Gudu District, Abuja. The church was decorated with white and gold colours, and the bride wore a stunning white gown with a long veil. The groom looked dapper in a black suit and a gold tie. The couple exchanged vows and rings before the officiating minister and the congregation.

The reception followed at the International Conference Centre, Abuja. The guests were entertained with music, dance and comedy. The couple cut their cake and performed their first dance as husband and wife. They also thanked their guests for honouring them with their presence.

Lloyd and Tiffany met at the University of Abuja, where they both studied law. They fell in love and dated for three years before getting engaged in 2022. They plan to have their honeymoon in Dubai.

Lloyd is the first son of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, who represented Enugu West senatorial district in the Senate for about two decades. He was also the Deputy Senate President from 2007 to 2019. He is currently being held in a UK prison alongside his wife Beatrice after they were found guilty of organ trafficking and consequently sentenced to different jail terms in May, 2023.

Newsflash Nigeria reports that a UK Court had sentenced the former Deputy Senate President and PDP chieftain to nine years and eight months in prison. The court also sentenced Beatrice to four years and six months in prison, while a doctor who allegedly colluded with them, Obinna Obeta, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The court found them guilty of conspiring to harvest and sell human organs from unsuspecting victims in Nigeria and other African countries. They were also accused of using their political influence and connections to cover up their crimes.

The case was exposed by an undercover journalist who posed as a potential buyer of human organs. He recorded his conversations with the defendants and presented them as evidence in court.

The verdict sparked outrage and condemnation from many Nigerians who demanded justice for the victims of organ trafficking. Some also called for the repatriation of the convicts to Nigeria to face further prosecution.

The wedding of Lloyd and Tiffany was seen by some as a ray of hope and happiness amid the dark cloud of scandal and shame that has enveloped the Ekweremadu family. Many wished them a blissful marriage and prayed that they would not follow the footsteps of their parents.
