Ekiti APC Chairman Rescued After Six-Day Ordeal with Kidnappers

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has confirmed the release of its Chairman, Barrister Paul Omotoso, who was abducted by unknown gunmen last Saturday.

Omotoso was on his way to his hometown of Imesi-Ekiti when he was ambushed and taken to an undisclosed location by the armed men.

His family and party members had been in anguish and anxiety since then, as there was no contact from the kidnappers.

However, on Thursday morning, Omotoso regained his freedom after spending almost a week in captivity.

According to family sources, he was released unharmed and in good condition.

They did not disclose if any ransom was paid to secure his release. The APC in Ekiti State expressed joy and gratitude to God for the safe return of their Chairman.

They also thanked the security agencies and the state government for their efforts and support.

The Police in Ekiti State have not issued any official statement on the incident or the rescue operation. It is not clear if any arrests have been made or if any suspects have been identified.

The Police had earlier launched a manhunt for the kidnappers and deployed operatives to comb the area where Omotoso was abducted.

The incident had sparked outrage and condemnation from various quarters, as many people called for improved security and protection of lives and property in the state.
