COVID-19: Group disburses N10,000 each for about 200 people as palliative in Ekiti
In the programme which took place at the Ikere City Hall and had in attendance some notable Sons and Daughters of the town a sum total of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) was given to each beneficiary who came from all the 11 wards in the town.
A Non-Governmental Organization named as “Omo Ayiye Community Foundation” on Friday, September 18, has disbursed a sum total of ten thousand Naira (N10,000) each for about 200 women in Ikere Ekiti, the second largest city in Ekiti State over the hardship of COVID-19 pandemic across the globe.
For the Economic hardship of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as evident across the world, the Omo Ayiye foundation gives the woman’s gesture in order to help their business and urged other well-meaning indigenes of the community to follow suit.
In the programme which took place at the Ikere City Hall and had in attendance some notable Sons and Daughters of the town a sum total of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) was given to each beneficiary who came from all the 11 wards in the town.
Speaking at the Ceremony, the President of the Foundation, Deji Morakinyo said the foundation was put in place without any political affiliation but to assist the less privileged to help their business.
The Monarch of the town, the Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti, Oba Samuel Adu-Alagbado, who represented by the Aladeselu of Ikere-Ekiti, Chief Mathias Idowu thanked the President of the Foundation, Barrister Deji Morakinyo and his friend, Mr Ayo Ogundare for the kind gesture and urged other well meaning indigenes of the community to follow suit, especially during this global pandemic.
Three of the beneficiaries, Mrs Rachel Afuye, Mrs Esther Aladesanmi and Mrs Funmilayo Atoyebi, who spoke with newsmen after the event, expressed gratitude to the organisers for looking in the direction of the needy.
They wished the foundation successful outing in their various future endeavours.
