Bola Tinubu Jets Out To France
The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has travelled out of the country to France.
According to his media office, the trip followed a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday morning.
While in Paris, the capital of France, Tinubu will hold some important meetings, his spokesperson, Tunde Rahman said in a statement.
Earlier before his departure, Tinubu had attended the public presentation of a book entitled ‘Mr. Speaker’ and launch of the legislative mentoring initiative in commemoration of the 60th birthday of Speaker of the House Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.
“On June 8, Asiwaju Tinubu emerged the presidential candidate of APC for the February 25, 2023 election at the party’s presidential primaries/national convention held at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
“After the election, he immediately embarked on a series of thank-you and reconciliation visits to those who contested against him at the party’s primaries including the seven aspirants who stepped down for him,” the statement recalled.
But SaharaReporters reported that the APC Presidential candidate was going to Paris to attend to his medical needs.
“What kind of meetings did he want to do in Paris that can’t be done in Lagos or Abuja, he is sick and needs medical attention, the stress of the campaign and primary has affected him,” a source close to the former Lagos governor told SaharaReporters.
In 2021 alone, Tinubu spent over 80 days patronising hospitals in France, the United States and the United Kingdom where he underwent surgeries amid the poorly equipped hospitals in Nigeria led by the APC government.
