Bald groom rejected by wife goes home with another bride

A groom returned home with a different wife than the one he had originally intended to marry after his bride-to-be refused to go ahead with the wedding upon seeing that he was balding.

Dr. Ravi Kumar’s family had arranged his wedding to a lady in Sugauli village, Bihar, more than a year ago, and all preparations were on-going towards the event.

The wedding party was held at the lady’s house on the scheduled date and the guests enjoyed all the delicacies. Even the ritual of garland-exchange was completed in a very convivial atmosphere.

The twist in the tale came when the groom reached the wedding venue for the completion of final rounds of wedding rituals and removed the crown from his head.

Witnesses said after watching the groom nearly hairless, the bride refused to marry him. Both sides tried hard to convince her, but she remained adamant.

Despite all attempts from Kumar’s relatives to get her to respect the deal they had made more than a year ago, the bride-to-be would not be swayed. So the wedding was cancelled.

But Dr. Ravi Kumar, undeterred, he and his famiy launched an in-depth search for ‘bride’ and ultimately the groom got married to one other woman named Neha Kumari from the identical village at a neighborhood temple.
