APC South-West leaders meeting: We’re united, resolved to produce the next President – Bisi Akande

The former interim chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bisi Akande, has said that South-West leaders are united and resolved to produce Nigeria’s next president.

Akande stated this in a meeting with South-West leaders and presidential hopefuls in Lagos.

The meeting which held at the Lagos House in Marina.

The meeting was convened by a former governor of Osun State Bisi Akande and a former Ogun State governor Olusegun Osoba.

The leaders cautioned presidential hopefuls from the region against name-calling, saying all aspirants have a right to contest.

The meeting was part of efforts to boost the region’s chances of securing the APC presidential ticket

The APC leaders also advised presidential hopefuls to caution their supporters against personal attacks.

Those present at the meeting included Vice President Osinbajo; a former governor of Lagos, Bola Tinubu; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.

The governors of Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Ondo and Osun state; Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Dapo Abiodun, Kayode Fayemi, Rotimi Akeredolu and Adegboyega Oyetola are also present.

The Ministers of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, Trade and Industry and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo and Interior; Rauf Aregbesola; Former Ogun State Governors, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun, amongst others, are in attendance.

Newsflash Nigeria understands that about seven aspirants from the South-West zone were declared to run for the president under the platform of APC.

The APC’s seven aspirants include the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo; Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; former governors of Lagos and the Ogun States; Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Pastor Tunde Bakare and Ondo Senator, Ajayi Borriface and Former Speaker House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole.

Newsflash Nigeria also learnt that the former Osun governor, Rauf Aregbesola and former Lagos Governor, Akinwumi Ambode are set to declare for the president.
