PDP Reps Candidate Hails Governor Oyebanji’s Performance, Calls for Unity in Ekiti

A prominent member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Lere Olayinka, has commended the State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for his impressive performance in delivering good governance to the people of the state.

Olayinka, who contested for the House of Representatives seat for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 2 under the PDP platform in the last general elections, said the governor deserves all the support and cooperation he needs to continue on his path of development and progress.

He said the era of politics of bitterness that stagnated Ekiti State for a long time is over, adding that “As far as I am concerned, Governor Oyebanji is doing well and I will not allow partisan politics to blind me from acknowledging that.”

He made these remarks during a meeting with some PDP leaders in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, where he also cautioned those who deserted the party during the last year governorship election and this year’s general elections not to act as the mouthpieces of the party.

He said the governor has demonstrated his ‘Omoluabi’ character in his style of governance, which transcends party lines and promotes peace and harmony in the state.

He said, “If you travel on Ita Awure – Aramoko – Igede road, you will see the clear difference between this time last year and now. This is undeniable even if you don’t like the governor’s face. I can recall how many times I had problems with my car tyres on that road.

“Also, I have seen the governor visiting those who ran against him in the governorship election, including those who challenged his victory up to the Supreme Court.

“He is running an inclusive government that respects all political parties and stakeholders. That is what Ekiti needs at this moment.”

He urged genuine members of the PDP in the state to remain loyal and optimistic of a brighter future for the party.

He said, “Some of us lost elections that we could have won. Some of us within the party contributed to the loss. But I have moved on and that is what I expect all of us to do, hoping that PDP will bounce back.”
