Tinubu visits Babangida after similar moves to some influential power blocs and individuals across the country.

A presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has met with former Military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB.

Tinubu met with Babangida on Thursday afternoon in Minna, the Niger State capital.

He arrived at IBB’s hilltop residence at about 2.30 pm and both went straight into a meeting behind closed-door.

After the closed-door meeting, the former Governor of Lagos State explained his reasons for visiting the former Military President, saying, he went to receive his blessings.

Responding to newsmen on the purpose of his visit to IBB, the former Governor of Lagos State said he was in Niger State to sympathize with the state over its security challenges and decided to visit the elder statesman to receive his blessings.

On whether he got his blessings, the presidential candidate replied, ” he gave me his prayers. You want to know the outcome of the consultation? We are running a democracy”.

Speaking on his ambition, he stated,” I took my decision voluntarily and I am running for the Presidency of the country, we are running a democracy, thank you very much and God bless you”.
