2023: Tinubu Purchases N100m APC Presidential Nomination Form

Former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has obtained the All Progressives Congress’ N100m Presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms.

Tinubu who is currently in Saudi Arabia for Umrah (Lesser Hajj) purchased the form through some of his close associates led by Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engineer David Babachir Lawal.

Other members of the delegation who picked up the forms for the APC National Leader include House of Representatives member from Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke; member representing Agege Federal Constituency in the green chamber, Babatunde Adejare.

The loyalists of the strongman of Lagos politics stormed the APC National Headquarters on Blantyre Street, Wuse 2, Abuja, at exactly 3 pm to pick up the presidential forms for Tinubu.

Tinubu had January announced his desire to succeed the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari in May 2023.

He had told Aso Rock reporters that becoming Nigeria’s President was his “lifelong ambition” and that there was nothing wrong with a kingmaker becoming a king.

Tinubu is expected back in the country after his observance of the Umrah in Saudi Arabia.

The APC has slated its Presidential Primaries for between the 30th of May to the 1st of June 2022.

Already, Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; amongst others have picked up the APC presidential forms while others are expected to follow suit in the coming days.

They include Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi; Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi.

Others are former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha; former Abia State Governor, Orji Kalu; former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun; amongst others jostling to be the flagbearer at the end of the APC presidential primary scheduled to hold at the end of May 2022.
