2023: APC Governors Ayade, Umahi Meet Wike In Port Harcourt

The two governors under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ben Ayade of Cross River State and Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State Governor met the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike on Wednesday night in Port Harcourt.

Newsflash Nigeria understands that the meeting was held at Wike Rumueprikon country home, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, Port Harcourt.

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu who is in the camp of Governor Wike also attended a closed-door meeting.

Ikpeazu is fighting structural injustice in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Both Governors Ayade and Umahi dumped the PDP last year for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

There are indications that the APC Governors met with Wike and Ikpeazu over the crisis rocking the opposition PDP.

Ayade and Umahi might be seeking Wike and his allies’ support in the forthcoming presidential election.

The Governor of Cross Rivers and Wike are meeting for the first time since the duo fell apart and exchanged words following issues in the PDP

This meeting is coming at the time Governor Wike and his allies vowed not to work for their presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, due to northern dominance in key positions in the party.

Governor Wike and his allies had called for the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu to resign from office as their demand to support Atiku.
