A dramatic scene unfolded at a wedding ceremony in Port Harcourt, as a pregnant lady stormed the church with some thugs, claiming to be the girlfriend of the groom.
The lady accused the groom of dumping her after impregnating her and marrying another woman. She said he had been avoiding her since she told him about her pregnancy.
The incident happened at the Methodist Church, Dline, Port Harcourt, on Saturday. The lady and her thugs arrived at the church after the wedding had been solemnized by the officiating minister.
They disrupted the event and attacked the groom, tearing his wedding suit. The bride was left in shock and tears, as the guests watched in horror.
The lady said she had been dating the groom for four years and that they had planned to get married.
She said she was surprised to hear that he was getting married to someone else. She said she came to the church to stop the wedding and demand justice for herself and her unborn child. She said she had evidence of their relationship and pregnancy.
The groom, however, denied knowing the lady or being responsible for her pregnancy. He said he had never met her before and that she was lying to tarnish his image and ruin his marriage.
He said he loved his wife and that he was faithful to her. He said he was a victim of blackmail and extortion.
The church authorities intervened and calmed the situation. They advised the parties to settle the matter amicably and peacefully. They also prayed for the newly wedded couple and wished them a happy married life.
