But Ojudu in a letter he jointly signed with Senator Anthony Adeniyi; three former members of the House of Representatives – John Akintoye, Dr Ife Arowosoge, Oyetunde Ojo and Otunba Ben Oguntuase to the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, condemned Oni’s suspension by the ruling party for anti-party activities.
According to them, Oni was being humiliated because he challenged Fayemi’s eligibility to contest the governorship election all the way to the Supreme Court.
The letter dated May 3, 2019 was titled, “A call to save the APC in Ekiti State”.
They copied President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
They also accused Fayemi of sidelining them in his appointment and discountenancing their contributions towards his electoral victory.
“Governor Fayemi whose hands can clearly be seen here (in Oni’s suspension), should realise that he needs to tread softly.
“Members of the party are fully aware of the shenanigan going on within the party and his government in Ekiti State. We are aware of the brazen monopolistic tendencies going on. Dr Fayemi used his influence as Minister of the Federal Government to place his cronies and lackeys in federal positions and when he became governor, he recycled the same set of people into state positions to the exclusion of other tendencies within the party in the state.”
