Makarfi meets Ladoja, Akala, Akinjide, others in Ibadan on Thursday

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ahmed Makarfi in a move to finally woo former members of the party back into the PDP fold and ensure the victory of the party in the 2019 general elections will meet some political gladiators in Oyo State on Thursday, August 24, 2017.

A source gathered that among political gladiators expected to receive Makarfi in Ibadan, the state capital is former governor of the state who is also the National Leader of Accord Party, Senator Rasidi Ladoja; his successor Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala and governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), in the 2015 general elections Engineer Seyi Makinde.

Others include a former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice during the second Republic, Chief Richard Akinjide and other stalwarts of the party.
Makarfi is expected to have separate meetings with the trio, Akinjide and other in a bid to finalise the (trio’s) return back to the party and ensure the victory of the party in 2019.
Our correspondent gathered that Makarfi and other leaders of the party are expected to depart Abuja at 10. am through Aeroland and arrive Ibadan Airport around 11.30 am after which he and other leaders of the party from the state will move to the Ondo Street residence of the former governor, Rasidi Ladoja.
A source close to the top hierarchy of PDP informed our correspondent that the first point of call will be Ladoja’s residence where the former governor will receive his guests around

“Thursday 24th Aug; Depart from Abuja to Ibadan by Aeroland 10.00 hrs
“12 noon, Courtesy Visit to Governor Ladoja;
1pm, Courtesy Visit to Chief Richard Akinjide; 3pm Courtesy visit to Seyi Makinde;
4 pm Courtesy visit to Chief Alao Akala”.
It was also gathered that there will be a courtesy visit to Akinjide at his Idi-Ishin residence by and meet Engineer Seyi Makinde around
The source also informed that there will also be a courtesy visit at the residence of Alao-Akala where the former governor will receive Makarfi at his old Bodija residence around 4 pm.
The source added that “5pm to 7pm Hotel Check in and freshening Up. 7pm-10pm
Unification dinner for 100 people at Carlton Gate Exclusive Hotel (by UCH Second gate, Secretariat Road Agodi GRA Ibadan) with media presence.
“With few speeches and declarations to the PDP by the Leaders. Joint Communique to be issued.
“Friday, 25th Aug 2017 at 7.45 am, return flight via Arik of the esteemed delegation back to Abuja.
“All our party leaders and supporters are enjoined to meet our chairman an NCC members at the Ibadan Airport from 10.30 am prompt from where the motorcade will proceed to Governor Ladoja’s residence as the first port of call.”
A chieftain of PDP who begged not to be mentioned however confirmed the proposed meetings in a chart with Newsflash247 Wednesday morning.
While confirming the proposed meeting to Newsflash247 Wednesday morning, a close aide to Engineer Seyi Makinde and Publicity Secretary of SDP, Alhaji Akeem Azeez declared that his boss is ready to receive Senator Makarfi tomorrow.
Azeez said “Yes.

“We are prepared to welcome him”.
