The Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Council, Hon. Muhammed Danasabe Muhammed, has passed away on Friday morning at a hospital in Lokoja, the state capital.
He was confirmed dead around 4.30am after he slumped at his residence on Thursday night.
Muhammed was a prominent politician who was actively involved in the preparations for the governorship election scheduled for Saturday. He was said to have attended several political meetings before he collapsed in his house.
He was rushed to Shifa Hospital, Lokoja, where doctors tried to revive him but could not save his life. A family source said he was clinically dead by 4.30am.
The deceased was from ward B in the cantonment area of Lokoja. He will be laid to rest at the Unguwan Kura Muslim cemetery after the Juma’at prayer on Friday.
Many sympathisers have visited his family house at the cantonment area of Lokoja to commiserate with them over his sudden death. He is survived by his mother, wife and children.
