Abba Kabir Yusuf, the newly sworn-in governor of Kano state, has caused a stir on social media after he refused to sit on the official chair of his predecessor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Newsflash Nigeria reports Yusuf and Ganduje have been at odds since the gubernatorial election in the state, which Yusuf won by a slim margin.
Ganduje reportedly handed over to Yusuf on Sunday, May 28, 2023, to enable him to attend the inauguration of President Bola Tinubu in Abuja.
However, Yusuf declined to sit on the chair that Ganduje used during his tenure and asked for a different one.
A video clip of the incident has gone viral online, showing Yusuf pushing away the chair and requesting another one before he presided over a meeting.
