Iyabo Ojo and Kemi Olunloyo Clash over Late Singer MohBad

Actress Iyabo Ojo and self-styled journalist Kemi Olunloyo have engaged in a heated exchange of words over the death of singer MohBad, who passed away on September 12, 2023.

Olunloyo, who is the daughter of former Oyo Governor Victor Olunloyo, accused Ojo of acting as the public relations officer to the late MohBad’s wife, Wunmi. She questioned Ojo’s motive for supporting Wunmi, who she alleged was involved in drug trafficking and money laundering. She also asked Ojo if she would allow her son, Festus, to marry a woman like Wunmi.

Olunloyo took to her Instagram page to blast Ojo, calling her a pathetic liar, a failed actress, a TikTok skit maker and a divorcee. She also prayed for God to punish Ojo for meddling in her affairs. She wrote:

“@iyaboojofespris You are a pathetic liar, a failed actress, a TikTok skit maker and a divorcee. You are acting as the PR for MohBad’s wife Wunmi who is a drug trafficker and money launderer. Would you let your son Festus marry a woman like her? God will punish you for interfering in my business. Leave me alone and mind your own business. You are a disgrace to Nollywood and a bad example to your children.”

Ojo, who is known for her roles in Yoruba movies, did not take Olunloyo’s insults lightly. She fired back at Olunloyo, saying that her own son disowned her, which is why she has no boundaries when talking about other people’s children. She also mocked Olunloyo for being a clown and a witch, and said she would use TikTok to make fun of her. She wrote:

“@kemiolunloyo Aunty Kem Kem, my darling sister, your own matter is moi moi now na tiktok I go take you do, you are a clown, I can never take you serious walai. Na DJ YK, go help us, remix all our videos later, your own son disowned you that’s why you have no boundaries talking about other people’s children even to the extent of changing their sexuality or wishing them dead, you’re what this picture represents a funny witch so why will I take you seriously.”

The feud between Ojo and Olunloyo has sparked reactions from their fans and followers, who have taken sides in the matter. Some have praised Ojo for standing up to Olunloyo, while others have criticized Olunloyo for being insensitive and disrespectful. Some have also called for peace and urged them to stop the online drama.

The singer, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, was a popular Nigerian musician and songwriter. He was signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Music record label until he terminated his contract in 2022 over allegations of abuse and exploitation.

He died after suffering from an ear infection that was allegedly mismanaged by an unlicensed nurse. His death sparked a social movement and protest with the hashtag #Justice4Mohbad. The Lagos State Police Command is still investigating his death and has arrested some suspects in connection with it
